PRE-COMPETITIVE

The Calgary Aquabelles offer multiple levels of programming. Whether you are interested in just dipping your toes in the water of artistic swimming or looking for next level training, we have a spot for you.

The Calgary Aquabelles Pre-Competitive program is perfect for girls and boys interested in just trying the sport. Learn the fundamentals and meet some new people without an extensive commitment.

In order to participate in the Pre-Competitive program, your child must be:

  • comfortable in deep water
  • able to submerge while holding their breath
  • able to swim two lengths
  • able to tread water for 20 seconds

This program is suitable for ages 7 and up.

Each session includes a final Watershow for parents.

2022-23 SESSION DATES, LOCATION & COST:

For the 2022-23 season the Aquabelles will be offering a mix and match option for the pre-competitive program. Families will be able to register for the days of the week that work best for them. Registration can be for a minimum of 1 day per week to a maximum of 3 days per week. Select the day or days your swimmer would like to attend and add them to your cart.

Once we have confirmed your registration you will receive a follow up email to complete your swimmer’s membership with our sport’s governing bodies, Alberta Artistic Swimming (AAS) and Canada Artistic Swimming (CAS). You will be sent a link to their online registration program. There will be an additional charge of approximately $35, to complete this process. NOVICE COMPETITIVE PROVINCIAL STREAM

This program is the perfect for athletes competing for the first time at the Provincial Stream level. Similar to our Competitive Provincial Stream program, it allows first time competitive swimmers the ability to compete against others who are in their first year.

This program currently swims out of MNP & Inglewood pools and is designed for swimmers ages 11 and older competing for the first time.

COMPETITIVE PROVINCIAL STREAM

The Competitive Provincial Stream program is the perfect place for your young athlete to learn the sport of artistic swimming. You will be amazed at how quickly their skills will progress and their confidence grows. Building new friendships with teammates is the icing on the cake.

The competitive program runs from September to June, which allows for the time to develop and prepare a team routine to perform at competitive meets. The competitive meets are the highlight of the year, allowing the swimmers to showcase all they’ve learned and trained for. These athletes all compete in local, regional, provincial and inter-provincial competitions.

Every athlete will participate on a team in the competitive program. Some may be selected for duet or solo routines on top of the team routines.

This program currently swims out of MNP & Inglewood pools. Athletes must be:

  • comfortable in deep water
  • able to submerge while holding their breath
  • able to swim two lengths
  • able to tread water for 20 seconds

COMPETITIVE NATIONAL STREAM

The National Stream for artistic swimming is geared for athletes interested in a high-performance competitive level. The National Stream competes and attends meets across the country, against other high level athletes. They train out of the water with fitness and yoga trainers to increase flexibility and build strength.

To be part of the Calgary Aquabelles National Stream, swimmers must be experienced artistic swimmers who honed their synchronized swimming skills through participation and success at the Provincial level or with other clubs. These athletes desire to take their swimming to the next level by entering this high-performance competitive field. Every athlete will participate on a team in the competitive program. Some may be selected for duet or solo routines on top of the team routines.

This program is suitable for ages 12 and up and swims out of MNP Sport Centre.
