Kids want to do it all.

There is a sport for that.

Synchronized swimming appeals to kids who love to swim, enjoy music and likes to dance and do gymnastics. The sport combines all of these activities into one. Fostering fun and friendships, the swimmers will learn skills together and support each other’s progress. Whether your child would like to experience the joys of the sport in a non-competitive recreational atmosphere or have the opportunity to wear a glittery swim suit and perform with a team at a competition, the Calgary Aquabelles offer synchronized swimming programs perfect for all levels.

PRE-COMPETITIVE (Recreational)

This non-competitive, recreational program is designed to gradually and systematically teach the basic skills of synchronized swimming. The program is based on the Synchro Canada Star Awards Program and is presented in 10 star levels.

This program is suitable for ages 7 and up and swims out of the Inglewood Pool.

SEMI-COMPETITIVE

The Semi-competitive Program runs in the Fall to Spring, it is a full year program with a local swim meet in May.

This program offers swimmers biweekly training at 4 hours a week. While the semi-competitive program is not a pre-requisite for the competitive program, it is a transition for swimmers who cannot commit to the competitive program at this time. This program is suitable for ages 7 and up and swims out of the Inglewood Pool

COMPETITIVE (Wildrose Provinical Stream or National Age Group Stream)

Wildrose Provincial Stream

Don’t be intimated by the word competitive. This program is also a perfect place for your child to begin learning the sport of synchronized swimming. You will be amazed at how quickly their skills will progress, along with their confidence and building new friendships with their team mates.

The competitive program runs from September to June, which allows for the time to develop and prepare a team routine to perform at competitive meets. The competitive meets are the highlights of the girls’ year allowing them to show the world all they have learned. These athletes all compete in local, regional, provincial and inter-provincial competitions.

This program is suitable for ages 7 and up and swims out of the Inglewood Pool. Your child also must be:

  • comfortable in deep water
  • able to submerge while holding their breath
  • able to swim two lengths
