The Calgary Aquabelles Synchronized Swimming Club offers a pre-competitive and a competitive synchro program from September to June. Both programs teach foundational synchronized swimming skills and the development of new friendships through teamwork.
The Club’s pre-competitive program consists of self-contained fall and winter sessions and is a good introduction to the sport in a casual recreational environment. Swimmers can chose from a once-a-week or twice-a-week class. Each of these sessions ends with a Watershow for the parents. Get more information on the pre-competitive program.
The Club’s competitive program is also a great place to start learning and quickly develop synchro skills but in a more committed atmosphere. Athletes ages 7 to 12 train primarily at the Inglewood Swimming pool and, on occasion, the Talisman Centre. The training season is from September to the end of June and depending on the athlete’s age, training can be three times or more per week. Training includes both land and water time. Land training is designed to enhance strength and flexibility. Water training includes lap swimming, synchro skills (figures) and routine development. All training is skill and age appropriate. Swimmers in the competitive program have the exciting opportunity to participate in city, provincial and interprovincial meets.
Highly qualified coaches trained through the National Coaching Certification Program run all competitive programs. All of the coaches are leaders in their sport either as professional coaches or as high performance athletes who have competed nationally or internationally in synchronized swimming.
To inquire further about the provincial competitive program for athletes aged 7 to 12 and our experienced National Age Group stream for athletes over 12 please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
